Lyman Ranches is an authentic cattle ranch governed by simplicity, honor, service and value, suppling quality products you can trust from people you can trust. We (Jared and Cassie, and our four sons) have cow-calf cattle ranches in the Mazatzal Wilderness West of Payson, on the north shore of Roosevelt Lake in Tonto Basin and we co-own and operate an additional ranch in Gisela, Arizona.

We raise commercial Angus-cross cattle. Angus breed because that is what the beef market desires and a touch of Brahman breed because of its adaptability to the Arizona desert environment our cattle forage in. It is important to us to have ecologically healthy rangelands and pastures. We pride ourselves in our high quality, low input, reputable cattle.

We also direct-sell our beef from our ranch to your table by the individual cut or by whole, half, and/or quarter beef.  Click here to learn more.

When you buy Lyman Ranches Ranch Raised Beef you are making a connection to your food. You will know who raised your beef, how it was raised and what is in it. You know it is product you can trust from people you can trust. You become part of our ranching story and help continue a ranching legacy. You are strengthening your local Arizona economy by buying local and supporting small business.

At Lyman Ranches we also sell our calves, at weaning weight, to the commercial market. This is the first step in the commercial beef food chain, over the next year until they become harvest weight and become the beef you buy in the grocery store or eat at your favorite fast-food restaurant, this Beef begins at a ranch like ours.

As cattle ranchers, our family truly cares for the land and natural resources.

“A true conservationist is a man who knows that the world is not given by his father but borrowed from his children.”

John James Audubon

We want to pass our ranches and our ranching legacy down to future generations, to see our grandchildren and even great-grandchildren and on, productively and sustainably raising cattle on the same land we raised cattle on.

We study the land in cooperation with the University of Arizona and the U.S. Forest Service collecting data and analyzing forage trends. We provide water for wildlife.

We add a touch of Brahman breed because of its adaptability to the Arizona desert environment our cattle forage in.

There are significant misconceptions around western cattle ranching and grazing on public lands. It is essential that if people have questions, they ask a real rancher, visit the ranch and get first-hand information. Know your farmers or ranchers, and you’ll know your food. We encourage you to start making friends in agriculture because without them, who will feed you and your family?
